It’s been only a few days since LoL Patch 10.5 is out. Meta hasn’t changed drastically, however, still, there are some new power picks in the game. But no worries, we got you covered and examined the highest win rate champions in patch 10.5!
In this article, we are going to look closely the win rates of LoL champions division by division and role by role. At the end of our tier list, you’ll have a much more clear idea of what to pick for your SoloQ games. So, let’s dive into them!
In case you missed it, let us clarify one thing: Volibear is OP in lower elos. He can be played on almost all roles besides mid, and, he has a very high win rate due to its OP kit. Garen is another champion that catches our attention. He has a whopping %56.14 win rate in mid lane.
Yasuo has the highest win rate amongst all other bot lane champions. This doesn’t surprise us at all, because even in high elos, Yasuo is busted and in lower elos people don’t know exactly how to play or what to pick against Yasuo. So he is abusable more than ever.
Support picks may confuse you because the %53.39 win rate Shaco looking right at you. Besides him, Taric and Swain shine out on the role as well.
There are some similarities between highest win rate champions on bronze and silver, most notable ones Garen, Yasuo, and Volibear. However different choices may come up huge in different situations. Most broken champions for the top lane would be Garen and Kled.
In the jungle, we see Shyvana and Trundle. Shyvana is relatively easy to play compared to other junglers, and, Trundle is really a good counter to tanky champions. For the mid lane, we suggest you play Garen (again, yes) and Morgana. Mordekaiser has a high learning curve but Morgana, on the contrary, is one of the easiest champions to play in the game.
LoL bot lane meta doesn’t differ too much as well. Kog’Maw has a %52.25 win rate which is stunning, but real OP is the Senna. She can be played both ADC and Support, and now with the new “fasting” build, she is more powerful than ever.
While we focus on different divisions, we see small pick changes in the list. Top lane champions don’t vary but in the jungle and mid, there are some key champions we should mention.
For the jungle, Warwick has the highest win rate in the gold. Some may claim WW is the sleeper OP, means he has a low play rate but has a high win rate, which is true. The reason we see Shaco with such high WR is that players don’t know how to play against him, same as Yasuo.
We should mention mid Vel’koz and Nocturne picks too. Vel’koz is really good against control mages and is being opted for the mid lane in the pro-scene. He is easy to play and has a high win rate not only in Gold but also the whole ladder. The real interesting one is Nocturne here. Originally a jungler, Nocturne-mid is a real stretch since it has really no business on the mid lane. Noc has limited wave clear and bad early game, but with his ulti, he can change the tides of the skirmish pretty quickly. We don’t recommend you to play Nocturne in the mid lane unless you have extensive champion information.
In the Platinum elo, games are much more snowball oriented than lower divisions. That’s why we see a heavy bruiser focus on the top side. Darius is an ideal champion for snowball, same can be said for Kog’Maw and Miss Fortune too.
There are not many different picks but we have to mention Annie and Maokai. Both are favored because area control features of their kit. Annie has her Tibbers and high burst potential, on the other hand, Maokai has huge zone control with its kit.
After Diamond and higher elos, picks are dramatically more meta oriented, so we’d like to discuss them both together.
As you can see, some picks don’t change throughout divisions, such as Garen, Volibear and Taric. In Diamond, Rengar has really high win rate both on top and jungle. Kalista and Cassiopeia are really effective on the bot lane meta. The same can be said for Challenger, with the addition of Veigar.
Win rates on Challenger are closer to the professional League of Legends scene. Jayce, Zac, and Hecarim are the most notable examples of this fact. We have to emphasize the importance of zone control in the game. Trundle, Alistar, Veigar and Zac have a really high win rate just because of this.
