Senpai Explains; League of Legends Patch 10.12 Notes

lol patch 1 01

League of Legends Patch Notes 10.12 is live and Volibear is in its final form! As we have mentioned in our PBE Notes, ADCs now have the anticipated health buff and attack speed items are more dangerous. Let’s begin with the champion stats and continue with our thoughts upon the new update.

Available with patch 10.12

Buffs & Nerfs

  • Akali: Q damage increased.
  • Brand: Increased mana restore on Ablazed enemy takedowns.
  • Cassiopeia: Base health and armor decreased; magic resist increased.
  • Fiddlesticks: W minion damage reduction increased.
  • Senna: Bugfix on attack windup time. Passive mist wraith drop chance increased.
  • Trundle: Base health, mana, and mana regen rounded. W bonus movement speed decreased.
  • Varus: Base attack damage growth decreased. Q damage ratio decreased.
  • Viktor: Q discharge damage ratio increased; shield ratio increased.
  • Volibear: Gameplay clarity improvements. Base mana growth and health growth increased. Q bugfixes and QoL changes. W bugfixes. R turrent disable duration, epicenter damage radius increased, and base damage increased; bugfixes.
  • Xayah: R base damage increased.
  • Yasuo: Base health decreased. Passive shield increased. W cooldown increased.

The overall base health buff will pinch our heroes for sure since the bot lane was a bit weak for a while. Riot has added survivability to ADCs yet the advantage can differ among the listed champions. We will see if the buff is a bit too much for some like Draven or was efficient just enough in the upcoming days of gameplay.

A Furious Kama: Akali was under the weather for a while and this buff on her most used ability should push Summoners a little bit to increase her pick rates. Her new Q stats will allow her to waveclear a bit easier and stronger sustainability on her lane.

HotHead: Such a little buff on Brand and this won’T satisfy mid lane players. However, we would like to think of this adjustment as a little step for mana pool yet a big step for Brand mains.

The Cool Wife: This an ADC Senna buff. The attack windup time is a nice touch since it was quite annoying for Senna players. Senna‘s channeling auto attacks might be hard to last hit for new players yet it’s now your chance to drop more mist wraiths to ramp up your power. Maybe we could see a range of builds besides Lethality on Senna, as the attack speed items were also buffed on the last patch.

Evil Laser Guy: The changes of Viktor are not expected to change his early game however Viktor is now stronger and harder to kill at the late game phase.

The Bear: Since it’s a brand new rework, expect to see adjustments on Volibear. Top lane showcased an underwhelming performance for our furious friend so the base stat improvements would allow him to recollect his power.

The Lovebird, ADC one: Xayah’s ultimate was not quite viable for a carry and was not fitting to be an ultimate in terms of impact. This buff would allow players to seek more opportunities in an offensive way.

Medusa: Tank days are kind of over for Cassiopeia since she was too strong for top lane besides mid lane. This nerfs actually aimed at top lane Cass and try to protect her stance at mid lane with the well-thought magic resist adjustment.

That Scarecrow: Seems Fiddlesticks is still a little bit unbalanced after the recent buff on his passive, therefore Riot has decided lower some stats again. W is still viable after this nerf. It is still higher than it was before his buffs so no need to worry about an over-diminishing. The power of waveclear is too high and he literally dominates monsters. We think we will see a bit more nerfs for him in the future.

Someone stop that Troll!: Trundle got a rounding nerf on his base stats which we think is a minor nerf. Who would like decimals? However, the hit he took for his W will affect his gameplay. Trundle’s early game was powerful due to his speed and he was both great at chasing around and escaping when he needed to. This may cause a drop in his win rates.

The Evil Ashe: Varus got the general ADC buff along with other on patch 10.11 yet it seems a bit too much for him according to Riot. Summoners’ choice of building Lethality for Varus had become a monopoly and cause domination over his early game. This scaling would make him a fair opponent in early phase of the matches. We approve!

Good news?:  Welcome to THE YASUO NERF. We were so excited about this when we saw it on PBE notes yet got us thinking with the Passive buff. Actually, the hit on his W which his counters find quite annoying; is massive. The nerf will absolutely affect Yasuo, especially on high elo where cooldowns are like inner-clocks. Despite the big “BOO” we can hear from Yasuo mains, this was a nice touch and we’re content with it.
