The Fortnite pistols are the most versatile weapons in the game. It would be a pistol because it’s the only weapon I’d use to acquire a dub with only one weapon. They are comparable to shotguns such as the Heavy Shotgun and the Pump Shotgun at close range.
Pistols can be effective against SMGs and submachine guns at close to mid-range. Against long-range snipers like the Heavy Sniper Rifle, I’ve even been able to secure some elims with my pistols. Pistols are the best all-around weapons available.
1. Primal Pistol
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, only the Primal Pistol can fire in rapid succession, making it unique among pistols. Furthermore, unlike most pistols, the Primal Pistol uses Medium Bullets rather than Mini Bullets. Sadly, the Primal Pistol suffers from a lackluster clip size like the Six Shooter. However, If you can’t handle the almost two-second reload time in combat, you’d better switch to a Pump Shotgun.
- Damage Per Second – 103.8
- Damage – 42
- Headshot Multiplier – 2x
- Fire Rate – 2.47
- Magazine Size – 8
- Reload Time – 1.8s
If you have access to a good swap weapon, such as a Pump Shotgun or Suppressed Assault Rifle, the Primal Pistol can be a useful tool. If you want to avoid getting yourself into trouble, stick to the other handguns on our list.
2. Six Shooter
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the Six Shooter is a weapon that prioritizes precision over speed. The Epic Six Shooter deals incredible damage per second, but its small clip capacity makes it extremely unlikely that you will survive long enough to fire it.
The Six Shooter’s rate of fire varies depending on whether you’re hip-firing or looking down sights. For hip firing the Six Shooter, the displayed rate of fire is appropriate.
- Damage Per Second – 190
- Damage – 38
- Headshot Multiplier – 2x
- Fire Rate – 5
- Magazine Size – 6
- Reload Time – 2.2s
If you have a steady hand and a keen eye for a target, the Exotic Marksman Six Shooter is a must-have. With a high multiplier, this Exotic variant is essentially a sniper rifle. It has nearly similar stats to its standard counterpart. Chapter 3 of Season 1 of Fortnite includes the Marksman Six Shooter as a free bonus item.
3. Revolver
The Revolver is functionally comparable to the Hand Cannon, but I prefer its more stylish appearance. The Revolver is the most stylish weapon in Fortnite Battle Royale due to its sleek, futuristic appearance.
Of course, appearance isn’t everything. Once we look at the numbers, we’ll notice that the Hand Cannon easily outperforms the Revolver.
- Damage Per Second – 99
- Damage – 66
- Headshot Multiplier – 2x
- Fire Rate – 1.5
- Magazine Size – 6
- Reload Time – 1.8s
A headshot from the Hand Cannon can cause 150+ damage, but not from the Revolver. When utilizing a handgun that fires slowly like this, having a kill with a single shot is crucial.
4. Hand Cannon
The Hand Cannon is an extremely entertaining weapon in Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale. The single rapid-fire blast from a hand cannon is enough to take down any opponent.
The Hand Cannon’s lack of flexibility is its main drawback. In Fortnite, this is a close-range weapon that will put up a fight. When weighed against the adaptability of other guns, there are better options than the Hand Cannon.
- Damage Per Second – 62.4
- Damage – 78
- Headshot Multiplier – 2x
- Fire Rate – 0.8
- Magazine Size – 7
- Reload Time – 1.98s
So far in Fortnite: Season 1, Chapter 3, the Hand Cannon has yet to be introduced. If this happens, I’m looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against the Bolt Action Sniper and the MK Seven Assault Rifle in the battle for the best long-range weapon in Fortnite Season 1, Chapter 3.
