2022 was one hell of a year for Valorant. A lot of stuff has happened over the past year: new agents, a new map, and massive changes to agents, and gun mechanics.
Valorant’s next huge update is right around the corner and is expected to release anytime soon.
Here is everything we know about Valorant episode 6
Release Date
According to a couple of leakers on Twitter, Valorant episode 6 Act 1 is set to release on January 10th, 2023.
Episodes are massively competitive time frames, with three acts in each. An episode can last up to six months.
Usually, an Act change will bring heavy changes to the game, not an Episode.
However, a new episode has an effect on the competitive scene. Players also receive a gun buddy based on their maximum rank in the previous episode.
A new episode also means that our ranks will receive a soft reset. This is not a complete rank reset.
Unlike a hard reset, our ranks will be almost close to our previous ranks after a soft reset. It takes five placement games to reveal your new rank.
New map
We will be receiving a brand new map in the next episode. In an interview with Red Bull, one of the Valorant devs also confirmed a new mechanic in the map. Here’s what he said;
“The next map, what can I say?” It’s gonna have a new mechanic. Yeah, it’s not too crazy. It’s not teleporters, but there will be a new mechanic. “It is going to be similar to another map in the pool.”
It is already known that most of the Valorant maps have unique mechanics. For example, Bind has teleporters, and Icebox has zip lines. Similarly, we can expect the new map to also have a brand new mechanic. All we know so far is that it is similar to an older mechanic.
New map rotation
With the addition of a new map and Split coming back, there will be a new map rotation. Breeze and Bind will be removed from the map rotation.
